Forest Creation

Three acre forest set built on a studio back lot to create an environment for a controllable fire sequence.

The process

Elements included rocky hillsides, cliff overlooks, a dry wash and over 600 trees. All forest components were harvested by my team from New Mexico ranches, forests and riverbeds.

The assignment:

Tree Build

Alligator Juniper created from thirteen separate juniper trees to recreate a scripted tree.

The process:

In addition to the actual junipers we used steel armatures, artificial foliage and sculpted plaster.
